Jameos Nights will also extend to Wednesdays from next week. The Art, Culture and Tourism Centers of the Cabildo de Lanzarote are adding that night from next Wednesday, July 1, to their usual proposal for Tuesdays and Saturdays. From the CACT they have indicated that they have made the decision "attending to the excellent response that this initiative has had since its origin, on June 15, 2013". "Jameos Nights aims to recover the Center that our parents lived in, the original idea of César Manrique, with a renewed gastronomic and musical proposal," they add.
For this, the Centers have designed a new menu for Tuesday and Wednesday nights, and updated the menu of their restaurant for those who want to enjoy a lunch or the well-known à la carte dinners on Saturday nights. The musical proposal will continue to be in charge of the timplistas José Vicente Pérez and Alexis Lemes who, accompanied by their quartets formed by saxophone or clarinet, drums and double bass, will be responsible for enlivening the evenings of Tuesdays and Wednesdays, while Toñín Corujo will continue to lead those on Saturdays.
The new Jameos Nights on Wednesdays
Jameos del Agua will open its doors at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesdays. Ahead, a suggestive gastronomic and musical proposal to enjoy a night in a "unique space in the world".
Dinner service will begin at 7:30 p.m. On the menu, diners can taste a chicken salad with assorted lettuces, apple, parmesan shavings and Caesar dressing as a first course; then a mango sorbet will be the prelude to the second, to choose between Iberian secret cooked at low temperature on vegetable ratatouille, or salmon on a fine herb velouté with spinach and sautéed mushrooms. For dessert, truffle cake will be offered.
At 10:30 p.m., the timple concert will begin, which will end around 11:00 p.m. From that moment on, there will be a DJ session until the night ends at 12:30 a.m.
The Tuesday menu
Jameos Nights offers an identical musical proposal although a different menu on Tuesday nights. The center will open its doors at the same time, at 7:00 p.m., to serve an equally exquisite dinner. The first course will be a prawn salad with fresh goat cheese, guacamole, mixed lettuces bathed in pink sauce and basil vinaigrette. A lime sorbet will serve to welcome a second course, to choose between lamb cooked at low temperature with creamed potatoes, sauced in its own juice or grilled wreckfish on a bed of vegetables. The dessert, in this case, will be caramel baccarat.
The price set to enjoy Jameos Nights on Tuesdays or Wednesdays is 37.90 euros per person, and includes admission and visit to the center, dinner, with mineral water and white and red wine D.O. Lanzarote, the timple concert and the DJ session.
Tickets to attend Jameos Nights are available at Jameos del Agua and at Casa Amarilla, on Calle Real in Arrecife. The maximum capacity of the restaurant is 120 people per night.
