Lanzarote had another of its worst days this Wednesday since the beginning of the coronavirus crisis, with 52 new cases confirmed. The figure even exceeds that of the previous day (with 45 cases) and is only below that of last Thursday, when 69 new cases were confirmed in 24 hours.

The new diagnoses bring the number of active cases in Lanzarote to 479, after eight discharges were also recorded on the last day. In addition, there has been a new admission to the Molina Orosa Hospital, where there are a total of eleven people hospitalized. Of these, ten are on the ward and one in the Intensive Care Unit, according to data released by the Ministry of Health of the Government of the Canary Islands.

Of the 52 new confirmed positives, 48 correspond to Arrecife, to whom the Ministry of Health already assigns 445 active cases (although this figure also includes Playa Honda, since its clinic depends on the health area of Titerroy). For its part, Tías has increased to 12 active cases and Yaiza to 9, while Teguise has 6, San Bartolomé 4, Tinajo 3 and Haria continues without any, always according to the allocation of cases made by the Ministry.
