"An error by the GRAFCAN computer system raised the positives of this day to 21 cases; when in reality there are 5 positives verified and corroborated by Public Health." That is what the president of the Cabildo, María Dolores Corujo, had to clarify on her Facebook page, after the Ministry of Health reported this Monday the worst figure in more than a month.

For its part, hours after disseminating this erroneous data on the Grafcan website and also in a press release, the Ministry of Health was still limited to pointing out that it is "reviewing" the data and until after 9 p.m. it had not specified what the real figure is.

In total, the Ministry of Health has assigned 21 new positives to the island in its latest update, which was the worst figure since September 25, since then there have been almost no days with ten daily cases.

"The epidemiological situation has not changed much compared to previous days," they clarified shortly after from the Lanzarote Health Services. However, well into Monday night they still did not give an explanation and did not rectify the figures.

For her part, the president of the Cabildo has made them public, stating that they are Public Health data. According to what she has published on Facebook, the positives diagnosed on Sunday were five and the number of active cases stood at 65 this Monday, compared to the 81 that the Ministry had communicated.
