The lawyer Lola Travieso, a member of the group of lawyers who legally advises Aminatou Haidar, reported that the judge in charge of the judicial commission that appeared late this afternoon at the Lanzarote Airport proceeded to inquire about the activist's state of health as well as to know her will to continue with the voluntary fast.

Travieso explained that Haidar conveyed her willingness to continue with the hunger strike that began three weeks ago as well as "to continue with the medical treatment received until today [by the doctor who treats her, Domingo de Guzmán] and not to be admitted to a hospital," she said.

From the environment of the 'saharaui gandhi' they indicated that the judge has verbally communicated to Haidar that her will is going to be respected, since, as the lawyer explained, and based on the Patient Autonomy Law, she cannot be forcibly fed.

The commission that went to the airport was composed of the magistrate of the Court of Instruction number 3 Jerónimo Alonso, two judicial police officers, an interpreter, a forensic doctor and a judicial secretary.

The Government Delegation presented this Sunday a document in which it requests the judicial authority to adopt the necessary measures to guarantee the life and physical integrity of Aminatou Haidar. It states that, among these measures, the admission to a hospital center must be included and, in any case, the performance of as many controls as deemed necessary by the doctors of the Canary Health Service or the forensic doctor to assess the physical condition of Mrs. Haidar.

The Government Delegation in the Canary Islands explicitly indicates in its writing that, given the time elapsed since the beginning of the hunger strike and that the events are taking place in the airport premises, the danger to life and physical integrity involved in maintaining her attitude, requires urgent health care action.
