Users of Assa Sport, the gym located in the Marina Lanzarote marina that closed its doors without prior notice on January 31, "will not lose the fees they had already paid." In addition, they will be able to temporarily access, "without additional charge", the facilities of the Arrecife Municipal Sports Park, managed by Lude. This will be possible thanks to the agreement reached between this company and Marina Lanzarote. Thus, through the Macrofit gym chain, Lude will manage the gym from next March, according to reports from the management of this marina.
The closure of the Assa Sport gym, as published by La Voz, generated outrage among its users, as they did not know "what would happen to the fees they had previously paid" or even with "material that had remained in rental lockers" of the facilities. In addition, they questioned that the company notified them of the closure by text message, when it had already occurred, and others did not even receive that message.
From Marina Lanzorote they have stressed, through a statement, that the arrival of Macrofit to Arrecife is a "double good news" for those affected by the closure of the other gym. Firstly, "they will not lose the fees they had already paid, as they will be respected by Macrofit so that they can receive the service for which they had already paid." Secondly, "they will not have to wait to train again, because during the time that the Marina Lanzarote gym remains closed, they will be able to temporarily access, without additional charge, the facilities of the Arrecife Municipal Sports Park." From the management of the shopping center they have explained that to take advantage of these benefits, "Assa Sport users can contact Macrofit" through the email address info@macrofit.es.
Adaptation of facilities and equipment in February
Throughout this month of February, the new gym will work on adapting and equipping the space available in Marina Lanzarote. The objective of the chain "is to transform the place into a modern sports center, with state-of-the-art machinery and equipment, in which to promote active health among the population of Lanzarote and provide service, at affordable prices, both to the most convinced athletes and to those who simply seek in physical exercise adapted to their own capabilities a means to feel healthier, increase their quality of life and improve their mood".
Macrofit "operates successfully" in Gran Canaria, according to reports, where it has more than 6,000 subscribers and "has just opened the largest private gym in the Canary Islands." This firm is owned by Lude, which currently manages the Municipal Sports Park of the capital of Lanzarote.
