There are a thousand reasons to hate journalism. And a very powerful one to love it: it is probably the only profession on the planet that sometimes, very rarely, gives you the opportunity to look into the eyes of people without whom the course of history would not be the same as humanity has known.

Everyone in the newspaper thought that this journalistic mission would be a simple 48-hour task: fly to Lanzarote, stand in front of the doors of a very distinguished residence in La Mareta, the same one where Pedro Sánchez would often spend his summers years later, and cover the file of the arrival to the island, with its corresponding shield of opacity and security, of the Russian couple.

In short: a lightning trip, some almost stolen photos and back home without a poor phrase from that genius of geopolitics to put on the headline.
