Five of the 25 immigrants rescued in the early hours of this Wednesday near Lanzarote have tested positive for covid 19. All are adults and are asymptomatic, so they have not required hospitalization, according to health sources.

The patera, a pneumatic boat, was intercepted at around 02:30 hours and its occupants were transferred by Maritime Rescue to Puerto Naos. Once attended by the Red Cross they were transferred to the Nature classroom of Máguez where they have taken samples to see if they had coronavirus.
