The General Directorate of Emergencies of the Canary Islands Government has declared a situation of pre-alert for coastal phenomena in several islands, including Lanzarote.
From the early hours of this Friday to Saturday, starting at 00:00 hours, the island of volcanoes will be on pre-alert due to waves. The Canary Islands Executive informs of the poor sea conditions due to combined sea and swell, with waves between 2.5 and up to four meters.
The waves will be driven by the wind, which will blow with force three or four, between 12 and 28 kilometers per hour of average gust. It may even reach stronger gusts, between 29 and 38 kilometers per hour.
The wind will not subside until Monday. During Saturday, it will blow from the northeast to the north, and on Sunday with an easterly component that will shift to the southwest on Monday. Meanwhile, the weekend will be from small waves to waves, with swell from the northwest and waves between two and three meters facing Saturday and Monday. While on Sunday they may be between three and four meters.
The high tides or high tides of Saturday will be between 02:20 hours and 03:05 hours, while in the afternoon it will be from 14:40 hours to 15:25 hours. Looking ahead to Sunday, high tide will be from 02:50 hours to 03:40 hours and between 15:10 and 15:50. On Monday it will be from 03:20 to 04:05 and between 15:35 hours and 16:45.
