Canarian wrestling asks to donate blood type A+ for a young man diagnosed with Leukemia in Lanzarote

The young man from Lanzarote, Jorge Quintero, has been diagnosed with leukemia this Thursday at only 18 years old. His father has asked the island's population through social networks to donate blood at the Molina Orosa Hospital in Lanzarote. "We are convinced that he is going to win this battle. He will soon begin chemotherapy treatment and will need many blood transfusions."

"It is a very delicate moment for everyone and we would appreciate it if those who could donate blood," his father added in an open message on Facebook. Residents of San Bartolomé, Jorge and his father share their passion for Canarian wrestling. Both have been part of the Tao Wrestling Club.

For this reason, the Unión Norte Wrestling Club has joined his father's request, specifying that the blood type needed is A+. They have also reported that appointments must be made by calling 928595573. In addition, the Canarian wrestling program Manos a la Arena has wished this youth wrestler a speedy recovery.

In a message spread in a WhatsApp group, Jorge Quintero revealed to his teammates that he had been diagnosed with acute leukemia and that he had been hospitalized since last Wednesday. "After a few hard days and even though it's bad news, I don't want it to influence anything bad for you," he wrote to the rest of the wrestlers.

"Although it will be a tough battle, I am sure I will win it." Jorge Quintero lives with his family in San Bartolomé and his father works as a Local Police officer in Arrecife.
