Due to the celebration of the Carnival festivities in the capital, the urban bus service will have a special line that will depart from the Hotel Lancelot and will travel through all the neighborhoods of Arrecife at night, "to allow the use of public transport on the days with the highest influx of carnival-goers", inform from the Department of Transportation.
On Friday the 12th, the buses will depart at peak hours in the early morning, from 3:00 a.m. to 6:00 a.m. On Saturday, the 13th, and on Monday, the 15th, the departure times will be at 5:00 a.m., 6:00 a.m., and 7:00 a.m. On Wednesday, the 17th, in the early morning to Thursday, departures will be at 12:30 at night, 1:30 and 2:30 in the early morning.
Some stops without service
On the other hand, the councilor of the area, the popular Lorenzo Lemaur, has announced that, from Friday, the 12th and until next February 17, the stops located next to the Casino Club Náutico, Parque José Ramírez Cerdá, Caja Madrid and Visanta will be without service from 9:00 p.m.
Likewise, next Carnival Saturday, these stops will also not be active between 11:30 in the morning and 2:00 in the afternoon. Lemaur explains that the users of the municipal bus transport, "have other stops near the previous ones that are located next to the Hotel Lancelot, the Arrecife Gran Hotel roundabout and the Insular Hospital".
Modification of the route
It is also detailed that on Monday, February 15, due to the Carnival Float Parade, the route of lines 1, 2, 3 and 4 will be modified from 2:00 p.m. Lines 1 and 2, from Valls de la Torre street, will be diverted by José Antonio street, following their usual route to León y Castillo street, passing through Garavilla, where they will make a stop next to the roundabout, heading from there to Valterra to continue their usual route.
Line number 3 will be diverted from Argana Baja by the ring road to El Cable, and then by Guenia street to El Reducto, from where it will continue its usual route. Finally, line 4 from Tinasoria, will be diverted by the ring road to El Reducto, from where it will continue its usual route.
These four lines will also undergo modifications in their route next Wednesday, February 17, due to the celebration of the Burial of the Sardine, from 2 in the afternoon. In this way, lines 1 and 2 will be diverted from the Insular Hospital by the Vía Medular to Triana Street and the Cabildo roundabout, respectively.
With respect to line 3, from the El Cable Urbanization, and after passing through the Insular Cabildo, this line will be diverted by the Vía Medular to the Insular Hospital. Finally, line 4 will be diverted by the Vía Medular to the Insular Hospital, from where it will continue its usual route.
