The Salvamar Urania intercepted a new boat with 60 people on board near Lanzarote, according to the Emergency Consortium.
The event took place around 11:30 p.m. this Sunday about 43 nautical miles east of the island. There were 60 people traveling in the inflatable boat, 52 men and 8 women, including 8 boys and one minor. All are of sub-Saharan origin.
Maritime Rescue has transferred them to Puerto Naos where they have been treated by Red Cross volunteers. The NGO has reported that no transfer to a hospital center has been necessary.
