Aemet extends the yellow warning for wind in Lanzarote until Friday

The State Meteorological Agency (Aemet) has activated the yellow warning for strong winds in Lanzarote until this Friday, January 26.

For this Thursday, January 25, there will be maximum gusts of 70 kilometers per hour and the wind will blow from the southeast, affecting inland and western areas, Aemet has predicted. The warning will remain in effect from 6:00 p.m. to 11:59 p.m. on that day.

For that day, the sky will be partly cloudy or clear, with some intervals of high clouds. In addition, the haze will be present on the island, especially during the second half of the day. Temperatures will not change much, with highs of 23 and lows of 17 degrees in Arrecife. The wind will blow moderately with intervals of strong easterly component, predominating the southeast during the central hours, and with the probability of very strong gusts in the interior and west in the afternoon.

Regarding Friday, January 26, maximum gusts of up to 70 kilometers per hour are expected on the island. The yellow warning remains in effect from 00:00 to 05:59 hours, Aemet has announced. The sky will be clear throughout the day. And the haze will be especially noticeable during the first half of the day. Temperatures will remain unchanged or slightly increase, with highs of 23 and lows of 17 degrees in Arrecife.

In addition, the wind will blow moderately with intervals of strong easterly component, predominating from the southeast at dawn with the probability of very strong gusts in the interior and west.
