The State Meteorological Agency has announced the arrival of the "hotter than normal" summer in the Canary Islands, especially in Lanzarote. Some statements detailed by the Aemet spokesperson, Rubén del Campo, in a press conference, in which he commented on the forecasts expected in the archipelago for the entry of the new season, on the night of this June 20.
The meteorologist has advanced that this hot summer could reach the 20% of the warmest recorded in the northern third of the peninsula and the easternmost Canary Islands, such as Lanzarote, Fuerteventura and Gran Canaria.
Regarding the forecast for all of Spain, in terms of temperatures, the State Meteorological Agency has advanced its forecast in which it is highlighted that the summer will be not only hot, but much hotter. There is a high probability (70 to 100% in most of Spain) that it will be among the 20% of the warmest recorded.
In addition, during his speech, Del Campo also presented a climate balance of spring and the seasonal forecast for summer.
