The Youth Center of Arrecife was filled with life and color this Wednesday. This was thanks to the work developed by 11 Adislan users who became artists for a few hours and actively participated in the Art Therapy workshop organized by the Department of Culture of the Arrecife City Council, in collaboration with the Youth Area.

Throughout two hours, María del Carmen López Montoro, a student at the Pancho Lasso Art School, has been in charge of guiding the Adislan participants through the sketches designed by herself. The Councilor for Culture of the capital's Consistory, Rafael Juan González, has thanked all of them for their participation, giving them a diploma accrediting their passage through the activity. Likewise, the councilor presented the emblem of Culture to the president of Adislan, Pablo Yebra. An emblem that González has also given to other associations in the municipality.

It will be exhibited in Arrecife and Haría

"They have done a beautiful job and they have done it as a team, giving color to four canvases that when joined have formed a single drawing, which is now in the facilities of the Youth Center, but we intend to exhibit it in a socio-cultural center of the municipality", explained the councilor.

Subsequently, the work carried out by the Adislan users will be transferred to Haría, so that the work developed can also be appreciated in the north of the island. According to the Councilor for Culture, "this is a promise made to them by the mayor of Haría, Marci Acuña", who came to the Youth Center to "greet the artists and congratulate them on their work".

Likewise, the councilor explained that the idea of exhibiting the work outside the Adislan facilities was a suggestion from the association itself. From the Consistory they have explained that this Art Therapy workshop is an initiative that is part of the program that Cultura Arrecife is developing with different associations and groups in the municipality, with the aim of "achieving an inclusive and accessible culture for everyone". The councilor also thanked the Pancho Lasso Art School for its involvement in the implementation of the activity.
