Esacan - Associated Schools of the Canary Islands, has turned 25 years old. Last Friday, June 20, it celebrated its anniversary in style at an event at the Real Club Náutico Arrecife that brought together a representation of students, teachers, suppliers, clients and collaborators who have been part of its history during these 25 years.

Different public officials from the Arrecife City Council and the Lanzarote Island Council also joined this meeting.

The company was founded by José Juan Rodríguez Reguera and Ana María Oncina Cordón as a training school mainly oriented to private courses.

Ana María Oncina, director of the school, highlighted that the motivation of this act was mainly to thank all the people who have been part of this project for their contribution and trust. Especially the students, during all this time, “highlighting the profession they currently practice and the prosperous businesses they have created, having their roots in Esacan”.

She extended her gratitude to all the teaching staff, those who were there and those who are still there, since “with their dedication and professionalism, they have made possible the training of more than 20,000 people on the island of Lanzarote, but also in the rest of the Canary Islands”.

In the same way, she wanted to thank the collaborating entitiesthat facilitate practical experience in companies in their final stage of training” and their client companies “for the impulse to recycle their work teams”. And finally, “to the professional and self-employed people who, with their support and good work, have been key for this educational project to advance with confidence and stability”.

As a surprise, from the Department of Social Welfare and Inclusion and from the hands of Marci Acuña, she presented Esacan with a wooden sculpture by the artist Guiomar Santana (Guio), which is awarded to companies as recognition for their involvement in inclusion.

It is an exciting recognition of the patient and human involvement of our management and teaching staff, for ensuring that people with diversity can receive the best training in our school”, said Ana María Oncina.

It has been a meeting of emotions, memories and to highlight the importance of training, effort, innovation and mutual collaboration to add value to a society that evolves by moments”, said Oncina.

Qualified, socially involved and hardworking people are still needed so that our community grows in a fair and sustainable way, and a large part of Esacan's students have been able to start their own business, so they are generators of employment and self-employment, contributing wealth and service to the conejera society”, she assured.

At the meeting, a toast was made to the past, but mainly “for what is to come, since, as with the summer solstice, a time of renewal and vitality is expected for Esacan”.
