After having spent practically the entire pandemic free of Covid, La Graciosa has just notified its second outbreak in less than a week. In addition, more cases linked to the first have been confirmed, adding a total of 14 positives between the two.

The new outbreak was detected this Wednesday, with a total of eight people affected. As for the first, it initially had three associated cases and one more was added this Tuesday, upon notification of the results of the PCR tests carried out on its 46 close contacts on the eighth island. However, although 45 of those tests were negative, the total number of those affected linked to this outbreak has finally risen from four to six.

In this regard, the Health Department specifies that the two new patients do not reside in La Graciosa, although they did have contact with some of the first affected, so their case is linked to the same outbreak.

In both cases, the outbreaks are of social origin and one of them also has ramifications in the family sphere.
