A couple of tourists found themselves in trouble a few days ago in Las Grietas. According to a user on social networks, two French travelers saw how their rental car got stuck on the side of the road in this natural space.
It was a Fiat 500 that they parked on the rofe on the side of the road, in an area where parking is prohibited, although it is commonly used by visitors.
The wheels of the vehicle were trapped in the sand and the travelers could not get it out of the place. The user, who shared the scene on TikTok, showed how several people joined to help get the vehicle out of the rofe. "It was impossible to get it out of there, it got dark on us," she added in the publication.
After three hours trying to get the vehicle out, they finally needed the help of a crane. "Four unknown couples went to celebrate a common victory," the user confessed.
Las Grietas has been the subject of controversy in recent years due to the incessant trickle of tourists that arrive daily to the place after going viral on social networks. Faced with the constant traffic jams in the area due to badly parked cars, visitors crossing the road and the fall of some travelers in the area, the City Council of Tías commissioned a study to analyze the risks of the place, of which the results are not yet known.
Last January, the Civil Guard fined several tourists who were parking in the area despite being prohibited.
