A dozen sperm whales have been spotted around Los Ajaches this Thursday in Lanzarote. This can be seen in a video accessed by La Voz, recorded by Pedro Famara, an employee of a sighting company.
In the recording, the animals swim and sporadically come to the surface. At that moment, the tourists who are watching them shout in surprise at the discovery.
The sperm whale is a marine mammal that belongs to the cetacean category. This animal is the largest of the toothed cetaceans and can reach up to 18 meters in length. It feeds on large and medium-sized squid, but also on fish, rays, octopuses or sharks.
