The Councilor of the Local Police of the Arrecife City Council, Cristina Marrero, has confirmed to Radio Lanzarote that the director of the Drag gala and the Queen's gala, Willy Díaz, suffered an attack this Saturday, after being involved in a fight within the framework of the Carnivals and ended up in the hospital Doctor José Molina Orosa. "I have to regret this fact and give my support to Willy so that he gets better as soon as possible," said the mayor.
According to Marrero, the incident took place on Saturday night in the vicinity of El Almacén, where many people gathered to enjoy the verbena. "Willy was mixed up in a fight, of which I don't know its dimensions. I haven't been able to talk to him and I don't know how he is," said the councilor.
Willy Díaz also had his mobile stolen during this fight.
Despite this, Cristina Marrero has been "satisfied" with what the Arrecife Local Police "has achieved" this year. "We have given security to these parties," she said.
