Two young people have been arrested and brought to justice in Arrecife during the early hours of this Thursday, accused of a crime of motor vehicle theft.
A police statement explains that the Arrecife Local Police received a call at around 02:49 in the morning alerting them that two young people were dismantling a moped on Palencia street in the island's capital. The agents then identified them and the owner of the vehicle, who stated that he had left his motorcycle well parked on Valladolid street in Arrecife.
Given these facts, the police officers arrested Jonay P.R., a native of Arrecife, 19 years old and with 7 previous records, and Cathaysa R.R., 17 years old. Both detainees were brought to justice after the instruction of the appropriate police proceedings.
