The Civil Guard of Yaiza arrested two young people of Spanish nationality on the 22nd, a male of 18 years of initials J.C.M.R. and a woman of 23 of initials C.D.S., as alleged perpetrators of a crime of robbery with violence and intimidation after stealing a woman's purse. He is also charged with a crime against road safety, as he was driving a vehicle without any type of permit to do so.

The events, according to the Benemérita, took place on the afternoon of February 16 when the victim, a woman of foreign nationality, got into a car with a young couple who offered to take her to an area of Playa Blanca as a sign of gratitude for having given them tobacco previously. However, the couple went "to an open area of Papagayo, where they took the opportunity to struggle with her and steal her handbag, with 1,000 euros according to the complainant, and then fled the scene leaving her behind."

Based on the information received, the agents collected the route followed by the vehicle in question, and were also able to gather the necessary evidence to identify the alleged perpetrators, who were arrested for a crime of robbery with violence and intimidation, and the Civil Guard also verified that the driver -J.C.M.R.- lacks a driving license or permit, so he was added to the charge of crime against road safety.

In addition, the Civil Guard informed the Prosecutor's Office for Minors of the alleged involvement in the events of a minor of 13 years, who was not arrested or investigated, "although his guardians can be held civilly liable for the damages caused to the victim." The detainees have been placed at the disposal of the corresponding Arrecife Duty Court.
