National Police officers have arrested Ricardo C.C. and David Antonio M.M., "El Gordo", both natives and residents of Arrecife, 32 and 35 years old, respectively, as alleged perpetrators of two theft offenses, and who already had 11 and 17 previous arrests, respectively, both for crimes against property.
A police statement explains that a resident of San Bartolomé, in charge of a construction site, reported to the Police Station that an individual seized a jackhammer and a radial saw, and managed to escape in a car with another individual despite the resistance opposed by one of the workers. Agents of the National Police Corps were informed about the license plate of the car in which the defendants fled, and went to the home of the vehicle's owner, Ricardo C.C.. Once at the scene, they searched the car and found a DVD player inside.
The agents inquired about the construction tools, and the aforementioned person handed them the radial saw, which was hidden behind some stones, claiming that the perpetrator of the theft had been "El Gordo". After arresting the first defendant and making him available to the court, the agents managed to identify David Antonio M.M., "El Gordo" and seized the stolen items, also arresting him and making him available to the court along with the seized objects.
