The Civil Guard of the Main Post of Costa Teguise arrested between June 27 and 28 three people, aged between 29 and 37 years old and with police records, as alleged perpetrators of a theft committed in an apartment in a residential complex in Costa Teguise. According to the Benemérita, the three detainees allegedly stole cleaning supplies, a tire inflation pump, sports equipment, bicycle repair material, food products and a road bike.
The alleged thieves accessed the apartment without forcing the door, since although it was closed it had no lock. The stolen objects amounted to more than 12,000 euros in value. The Civil Guard began an investigation on June 20 as a result of a complaint from a citizen in which he reported that unknown perpetrator(s) had accessed, without forcing, the interior of an apartment located in a complex in this tourist town and stole different items, including a road bike valued at 12,000 euros.
With the initial data collected, the Civil Guard initiated the police investigations, obtaining the first indications in the technical ocular inspection and the statement of the injured party himself, in addition to the analysis of the images from the surveillance cameras.
The data obtained from the recordings of the different tourist complexes located in the vicinity of the scene, in union of the possible statements of the witnesses, led to the identification of the alleged perpetrators.
We proceeded to check sales platforms for second-hand items. Being a limited edition and very characteristic model, we proceeded to locate the alleged perpetrators.
The Civil Guard returned most of the stolen items to its owner, including the bicycle, with the exception of food products. The proceedings were sent to the Investigating Court on duty in Arrecife.
