The Civil Guard has arrested three more people in relation to the landing of the 470 kilos of cocaine that occurred on August 6. According to sources close to the investigation, a "criminal association" made up of six people has allegedly been dismantled, which allegedly had a connection with a cartel from Peru through the ringleader of the gang, one of the detainees. As La Voz has learned, one of them allegedly acquired a sailboat with which they traveled to the Caribbean and loaded the cocaine to bring it to the island, although it was unknown when and where the landing would be. Everything happened when the two Civil Guard agents from Costa Teguise, who were carrying out surveillance work in the La Santa area, noticed the presence of the boat and arrested them at the town's pier.
That same morning two people were arrested and a third who had fled was arrested two days later when he appeared at the Civil Guard Barracks. Days later, the Benemérita has arrested three more people in this operation. Apparently, the cocaine was unloaded in Lanzarote, part of it remained on the island and the other was sold in the rest of the Canary Islands and in the Peninsula. The six detainees are already in the Tahíche prison.
This police operation has also had the collaboration of other international police forces.
