The skeletal remains found two weeks ago in an abandoned house located in the vicinity of Charco de San Ginés are human. This has been confirmed to La Voz from the Superior Court of Justice of the Canary Islands, from where they have indicated that there is an open investigation to identify the bones and that there are indications of who they may belong to. And it is that, they have pointed out that DNA is already being compared with relatives of the person who is believed to be the deceased.

It was a boy who was walking along El Carenero street on March 21 who found the bones and notified the National Police, who immediately moved to the area. However, it was unknown then whether the bones were human or animal because, among them, no skull had been found, according to the police force. Given this, the National Police treated them as if they were human, with the scientific police appearing, the area being cordoned off and photographs of the place being taken.

The bones were then sent to the Forensic Anatomy Institute, to determine their nature, having now been confirmed that they are human.
