Security and emergency teams have extended the search for Francisco Javier Delgado to the rest of the island's municipalities, as confirmed by the Cabildo, after he went missing since last Friday.

The Security and Emergency Consortium activated the search this Tuesday, after the National Police verified that this young man was not in any health center in Lanzarote nor had he left the island by port or airport.

Thus, personnel from the Consortium, Emerlan, Red Cross, Civil Protection, Local Police and National Police began the search in the Titerroy neighborhood, where the young man lived, and from there they searched the municipality through different areas and neighborhoods, starting from Calle León y Castillo and going through El Lomo, Valterra, Puerto Naos and Las Caletas, as well as La Vega, the town of Arrecife, San Francisco Javier, El Cable and Tahíche.

On Wednesday, the emergency and security services also combed the neighborhoods of Argana Baja and Argana Alta, Maneje, and the LZ-3 to Tahíche. In this town, the area of the Tahíche Volcano was searched, the caves of the truck and the kitchen, and even the crater. The family itself already searched on Sunday in Tahíche, where they had been residing for about 17 years, but they did not get news of Francisco either.

The security and emergency teams also searched for the missing person this Wednesday from the north of Maneje to the cemetery, reaching the area of the Cabildo's experimental farm. During the afternoon, the device moved to the Argana dump and from the north of San Francisco Javier to the roundabout connecting Playa Honda with Güime.

The Civil Guard and the Local Police forces of the seven Town Halls have also been collaborating with the search. In addition, all the Civil Protection groups on the island were alerted of the disappearance, as well as the REN and the Volunteer Firefighters of Tías (Boluntis).

After continuing without knowing anything about the young man, the search device has been extended this Thursday to the rest of the municipalities, hoping to find some clue that leads to his whereabouts. "It's tremendous. He has been missing for six days and we still don't know anything. Waiting and waiting", says Francisco's mother, Antonia Machín.

A call from Montaña Blanca

The mother of the missing person assures that this Wednesday she received a call from a neighbor of Montaña Blanca, who alerted her that he had seen a "thin and emaciated" young man walking through the area and asking how to get to San Bartolomé. However, although it was a glimmer of hope for Antonia, she doubts it is her son. "He knew that area very well, because he had been a delivery man, so I doubt it was him and that he was asking how to get to San Bartolomé", she says.

Francisco Javier Delgado has been missing since Friday afternoon, when a neighbor saw him leaving his house. This 36-year-old young man is 1.82 meters tall and weighs just over 52 kilos. When he disappeared, he was wearing jeans, a sweatshirt and sneakers, according to his mother. Physically, Francisco is of athletic build, short and black hair, elongated face, brown-green eyes, dark skin and a tattoo on his chest.

From the Cabildo they make a call for citizen collaboration and request that if someone sees any person with identifying characteristics, notify their location through the 080 emergency number or 112.
