Two men arrested for obtaining narcotics through the Internet

Agents of the National Police of Arrecife have arrested two men, 22 and 24 years old, of Spanish nationality as alleged perpetrators of a crime against public health, for acquiring drugs through the internet.

The substances, which were received by mail through two post office boxes, were mainly synthetic drugs. One of those arrested had already been arrested previously, in November of last year, in another operation for similar events.

The National Police, within the framework of an operation against drug trafficking in Arrecife, and thanks to the investigations carried out, was able to determine how the alleged perpetrators acquired the narcotic substances in the well-known "Dark Web" (term referring to the hidden or invisible internet network), being sent from different parts of Europe. The detainees were seized 99 ecstasy pills weighing 65 grams, in addition to 20 grams of crystal methamphetamine, and one gram of heroin.

After the alleged perpetrators were identified, they were located collecting a batch of letters they had received, being able to verify how there were indeed various narcotic substances inside the mail.

Therefore, these people were arrested as alleged perpetrators of a crime against public health, being placed at the disposal of the competent Judicial Authority.
