The Local Police of Tías has removed a total of 88 electric scooters from the main roads of the town of Puerto del Carmen for failing to comply with several regulations such as the General Public Health Law, the Royal Decree-Law of urgent measures to deal with Covid-19 and a decree of the Mayor of August 10.
According to sources from the Local Police, a sanction has been proposed "for the commission of a very serious infraction typified in the Regulatory Ordinance of the use and occupation of the municipal public domain, sanctioned with a fine from 1,501 to 3,000 euros”.
The electric scooters, which remain stored in the municipal depot, belong to the company Wind Mobility Gmbh, commercial brand Wind.
Non-compliance
According to the City Council, these personal mobility vehicles operated "irregularly" in the municipality of Tías, failing to comply with the order contained in the decree of the Mayor ALC/2020/545 of August 10, 2020, which is why they have been removed.
Likewise, it is also pointed out that non-compliance with the corresponding safety and hygiene conditions has also been observed according to the orders issued by the health authorities, “given that the manipulation of said vehicles puts their users at manifest risk of infection”.
For this, a sanction is proposed for infringing the General Public Health Law, and for infringing the Royal Decree-Law of urgent measures for prevention, containment and coordination to deal with the health crisis caused by covid-19.
Recently, the Local Police of Teguise also seized 45 electric scooters from the same company that, in this case, were parked on the sidewalks of different streets of Costa Teguise, failing to comply with current regulations regarding safety and citizen coexistence.
