The first investigations of the Civil Guard indicate that the young man seriously injured in the brawl that took place in the early hours of this Thursday in Costa Teguise was self-inflicted with a knife that he was carrying, as confirmed by the Civil Guard, which has opened an investigation to clarify the facts.

According to the Civil Guard, the events took place in a bar to which witnesses claim that the young man entered with the knife uttering threats against those inside, who began throwing glass bottles at him. It was while defending himself from the throwing of the glass that the young man, who is 25 years old and from Lanzarote, allegedly stuck the knife in his wrist.

After being alerted at 01:28 hours, the Civil Guard went to the scene and assisted the injured man until the arrival of the ambulance, which transferred him to the Molina Orosa Hospital, where he remains admitted. Now, the Civil Guard is waiting to take a statement from him, although no complaint has been filed in this regard so far.
