The Civil Guard of Tías, appeared at a hotel establishment in the town of Puerto del Carmen-Tías, since they reported from there that a person was paying for different services with counterfeit bills.

This person checked into the complex and proceeded to make several payments both at the complex's bar and other services, as well as paying for a taxi with fifty euro bills, presumably counterfeit, with the intention of getting change in legal tender. Once this person was located by the Civil Guard, they proceeded to identify and superficially search him, seizing other bills of illicit origin. Subsequently, a search was carried out at his vacation home in said complex, finding in his safe the amount of another fifteen fifty euro bills, supposedly counterfeit.

For such events, the Civil Guard proceeded to arrest this person, whose initials correspond to C.W., 20 years of age and a British subject, as well as the total seizure of 750 euros in counterfeit bills and one thousand one hundred pounds sterling in legal tender.

The detainee was placed at the disposal of the Investigating Court of Arrecife.
