Agents of the Nature Protection Service (Seprona) of the Civil Guard have charged a person for the illegal dog fight in Lanzarote, as confirmed by this body to La Voz. The Civil Guard does not rule out new charges, after having viewed a video of a fight between dogs, in which several young people are seen encouraging the animals.
The agents are investigating these images to determine if behind them there is a crime against the protection of fauna and flora or a criminal offense for animal abuse. Investigators believe that these are dogs trained to attack and participate in this type of illegal fights.
Apparently, these events occurred in the municipality of Tinajo and some of those involved could be minors. Penalties in Spain for animal abuse range from three months to one year in prison.
