The Civil Guard in Costa Teguise arrested two men this Saturday for a robbery inside a house in the town of Arrieta. The men, 47 and 24 years old, and of foreign and Spanish nationality respectively, were surprised inside the house, which they accessed after breaking a window.
After receiving a call from the Emergency and Security Coordinating Center (CECOES) 112, the Civil Guard agents went to the house, where they found the vehicle of the alleged thieves at the entrance, which made them know that they were still inside.
The detainees, who were caught red-handed, tried to flee through the back of the house, where they had the car, ignoring the indications that the agents had given them. Thus, one was intercepted before reaching the vehicle, while the other managed to flee on foot. Both were wearing sweatshirts with hoods and dark clothing to make it difficult to be identified.
The man who had fled was immediately arrested by the Rapid Intervention Group. Both detainees were carrying two stolen rings and a watch, as the owner of the house recognized both objects. Likewise, the Civil Guard verified that inside the house the men had several objects selected and placed in bags, which were finally not stolen.
The detainees have been placed at the disposal of the court of the town of Arrecife.
