The Civil Guard has arrested two men after being caught transporting two immigrants who arrived on a boat to Lanzarote. The boat, a wooden boat of just six meters, arrived at Las Cocinitas beach, near Órzola, in Haría, at about 8 p.m. this Saturday and its occupants dispersed through different places of the place.

Once the police device was deployed throughout Saturday night and during Sunday, the Civil Guard located a total of 13 men of Maghrebi origin, all undocumented (eight adults together with five minors apparently between 14 and 17 years of age) being transferred to the Costa Teguise facilities and later taken to the Arrecife Police Station in the case of adults.

The minors were taken to the Hospital to perform the corresponding bone tests and determine their exact age.

On Saturday night, shortly after this boat arrived, a Civil Guard patrol participating in the search for its occupants intercepted an Opel Corsa vehicle that was circulating through the municipality of Haría, verifying that in the rear seats of the car there were two adult immigrants who arrived in this boat.

For this reason, the civil guards proceeded to arrest the driver and the companion of this tourism, both of Moroccan nationality of 35 and 42 years residents in Lanzarote, one with address in Tías and the other neighbor of Arrecife, who have been accused of an alleged crime related to favoring illegal immigration.

The Civil Guard continues with the searches in the north of Lanzarote to try to locate two or three more immigrants, as it is estimated that about 15 or 16 Maghrebi probably disembarked in this boat.
