The Civil Guard of Costa Teguise arrested on July 12 a person with initials G.T.M and 34 years of age with numerous police records, for being the alleged perpetrator of 13 crimes. Specifically, eight crimes of robbery with force, one crime of robbery with violence, two crimes of theft, one crime of robbery inside a vehicle and one crime of theft of use of a motor vehicle, committed during the current year in various places. Likewise, the Civil Guard also investigated a person related to these events for a crime of receiving stolen goods, by acquiring the goods illegally.
The investigation began from an investigation of a stolen mobile phone, since from this object the Civil Guard was able to discover a criminal action by a person who had acquired objects knowing their illicit origin. This led the Benemérita to open a new line of investigation for the alleged authorship of a crime of receiving stolen goods, for which they obtained the track that finally led to locating the alleged perpetrator of these 13 crimes against property who has been arrested.
Thanks to this line of investigation, the agents were able to verify that there was a continuous exchange of objects from criminal acts between the detainee and the alleged perpetrator of the crime of receiving stolen goods. According to the Benemérita, they offered each other telephones, video game consoles, mountain bikes, etc...
The Civil Guard was able to verify through the exchange of information with other police forces that G.T.M had committed criminal activities continuously, covering both the Canary Archipelago and the Peninsula, being charged with the alleged authorship of crimes committed in the demarcations of the Civil Guard and the National Police Corps.
He committed the crimes in both Madrid and Lanzarote
Thanks to police coordination and collaboration, the agents were able to verify the relationship of G.T.M with various crimes committed in the demarcation of the National Police Corps, specifically in Madrid, for a robbery with force. Likewise, in Arrecife he was recognized as the alleged perpetrator of five crimes against property, which is why he had a police request in force for his arrest. The Civil Guard of Costa Teguise was specifically related to five crimes of robbery with force and a continuous crime of robbery with force.
According to the Benemérita, the circumstance is that G.T.M was fully aware of the police requisitions that were in force (Civil Guard and National Police Corps), as well as the current judicial requisitions by two Courts of Arrecife for his search, arrest and appearance in them.
Once the alleged perpetrator was identified, the Civil Guard of Teguise initiated a surveillance device, in anticipation that he could meet to exchange some type of material of illicit origin. Finally, the police investigations bore fruit on July 12, when G.T.M went to meet the person under investigation for the crime of receiving stolen goods, traveling by taxi to the town of Arrecife, at which time he was immediately arrested when he was getting out of the vehicle.
With this police action, 13 crimes against property have been clarified, leaving the person at the disposal of the Investigating Court on duty, in the town of Arrecife, which ordered his imprisonment.
