Agents of the Civil Guard of Tías have arrested a man accused of stealing the wheels (four rims and their respective tires) of a rental vehicle. The investigation began as a result of the complaint filed on July 11 by a representative of the injured company. Immediately afterwards, the Civil Guard agents proceeded to gather information about the stolen rims, being able to find out that they "belonged to a limited and exclusive series made for a new and specific range of vehicle model".
On the same day, July 11, and after initiating a search and location device for the aforementioned rims, the agents managed to locate a vehicle, of the same brand as the car that suffered the theft but of an earlier range, which was parked on a street in Puerto del Carmen.
Once it was verified that they were the stolen wheels, since they matched their serial number, the search for the owner of the car was carried out, who was arrested last Monday the 15th. Once in police custody, according to the Civil Guard in a statement, the detainee admitted the facts.
The rims and tires, according to the press release, have an estimated value of 2,000 euros. The detainee, of foreign nationality, together with the recovered effects, have been placed at the disposal of the Arrecife Duty Court.
