The Local Police found the body of a woman in one of the bathrooms of the Hiperdino supermarket, located on La Calle Real, in Arrecife, on Thursday morning, Christmas Eve. The agents discovered the lifeless body of a 41-year-old person of foreign origin, according to sources close to the case informed La Voz.
Apparently, according to these same sources, the woman lived in indigence and spent the nights in the streets of Arrecife, since she had no place to take refuge. Probably, given the strong storm that hit Lanzarote this Wednesday and the abundant rains, this woman, registered in Arrecife, sought a roof to spend the night.
Thus, she managed to access the Hiperdino bathrooms, in the Atlántico Shopping Center in Arrecife. She spent the night there and was found dead there by Local Police officers around 8:15 a.m.
The causes of death are unknown of this homeless person and now it will be the justice system that must investigate these events. Hours after the body was found, a judge went to this place to proceed with the removal of the body.
