The crew of a Jet2 flight originating in Belfast and bound for Lanzarote has requested police presence at the César Manrique airport, due to the conflicting attitude of several passengers on board.

The flight departed from the capital of Northern Ireland this Thursday, August 8, at 3 p.m. and landed on the island without further incidents at around 7:30 p.m.

The Air Traffic Controllers team explained on their X account that they have "momentarily lengthened the approach" and have coordinated the presence of agents at the terminal.

These situations are being experienced more frequently on different flights, the last one occurred at the beginning of July when a drunk passenger disrupted the order of a flight between Manchester and Lanzarote turning it "into a hell" for the rest of the passengers. The events occurred on a low-cost airline Ryanair plane, one hour after departing from the United Kingdom to the Canary Island.
