The special operation that the police have launched for these holidays, in collaboration with the Police Intervention Unit of Las Palmas and the Local Police, has led to the arrest of seventeen people this first weekend of Carnival, although, according to official sources, the festivities have not been characterized by major incidents and most of the arrests have occurred due to the greater presence of police officers, since more than 100 people have been asked for identification.

Six of the seventeen detainees were placed at the disposal of the police for drug use and possession; four people for being wanted by the courts; another four for injuries caused by street fights; two citizens were arrested for not having a residence permit and one for resisting and assaulting authority.

In addition, there have been two robberies in establishments in the city center, although, according to police sources, a small number for the holidays in which we find ourselves.
