Sailboat crew rescued as it was sinking in Playa Honda

The sailboat had capsized and was sinking because it had no floats, according to sources from the NGO REN.

The Non-Governmental Organization REN has rescued the crew of a sailboat that was sinking in Playa Honda. The events took place this Monday, on Guacimeta beach, in the municipality of San Bartolomé.

After receiving the warning from the beach lifeguards, an NGO boat went to the sailboat, which was about 300 meters from the shore. Once there, they were able to rescue its two crew members.

The sailboat had capsized and was sinking because it had no floats, according to REN sources. The lifeguards, after rescuing the crew, towed the sailboat to the coast.
