Officials of the National Police Corps assigned to the local Arrecife Police Station have recently proceeded, in collaboration with agents of the Local Police of Arrecife, to carry out identification and control of activities and people in several establishments in the streets Triana, José Antonio, Tiburcio, public parks and in the area of La Vega.
A police statement explains that, as a result of the so-called Response Plan to retail drug trafficking and drug use in these leisure areas, and continuing with actions from previous weeks, a total of 117 people were selectively identified.
Of these, three were arrested for irregular stay in Spain, and another for an attack against Agents of the Authority, since when asked for his documentation he refused and attacked one of the acting police officers by throwing a chair at him.
In addition, in the operations several reports were filed for drug possession, prohibited weapons (including a metallic baseball bat), and another report of a proposal for governmental sanction to the owner of one of the premises, for "permissiveness towards drug use" in his establishment.
