The Maritime Rescue vessel Salvamar Al Nair rescued 16 immigrants who were traveling in a small boat 58 miles northeast of La Graciosa at three o'clock this Sunday afternoon and, apparently, "are in good health", according to Maritime Rescue.
Passengers aboard the Naviera Armas ferry Volcán del Teide, which covers the route between Huelva, Lanzarote and Gran Canaria, reported at eleven o'clock this Sunday that they had seen a boat on the high seas, although they could not confirm whether it had people inside, reports Maritime Rescue, according to the newspaper La Provincia.
The arrival of the immigrants aboard Al Nair took place at around 6:50 p.m. this Sunday at Puerto Naos, where they were attended by volunteers from the Immediate Response Team in Emergencies (ERIE) of Humanitarian Aid to Immigrants of the Red Cross.
