Lanzarote has added a new case of coronavirus, which would be the fifth positive on the island. However, both in this case and in the rest, it will have to be confirmed by the Carlos III Institute as required by the protocol and it will be the Ministry of Health who will report as in each day.
This is one more case than the previous day, when four cases were officially reported. The fourth was known during the afternoon of Sunday, since the City Council of Tías made public that the Councilor for Health of the Consortium, Laura Callero, who in turn works in the Emergency Department of the Molina Orosa Hospital, had tested positive.
As a result of this case, some hospital workers are also complying with the isolation required by the protocol to rule out possible infections. In this regard, sources consulted by La Voz have assured that the fifth positive is not a healthcare worker.
As for the other three positives registered on the island, two are from a couple of tourists who were staying in a hotel in Playa Blanca, while no further information was provided about the third from the Ministry of Health.
