A man had to be assisted on the night of this Monday, March 9, after suffering a fall into a ditch approximately 1.5 meters deep on Faro de Pechiguera avenue, in the tourist town of Playa Blanca, in the municipality of Yaiza.

According to the Security and Emergency Consortium, the incident occurred around 8:37 p.m., when the Emergency and Security Coordination Center (CECOES) alerted the personnel about the fall of a person into a ditch located on the aforementioned road.

Upon the arrival of emergency personnel, Advanced Life Support and Basic Life Support ambulances from the Canarian Emergency Service (SUC) were already at the scene, as well as agents of the Local Police.

The firefighters verified that the affected person was being attended to by medical personnel, so they proceeded to collaborate with the SUC in the evacuation of the patient. For this, they used a spinal board with which they managed to extract the injured person from the ditch and transfer him to the ambulance.

Once inside the medical vehicle, the SUC doctor took charge of the assistance of the affected person and their subsequent transfer to a hospital center.

Agents of the Civil Guard also went to the scene. After finishing the evacuation and as their presence was no longer necessary, the Consortium's personnel declared the service concluded and returned to their base.
