The second largest tour operator in Germany, Dertour, is looking for new hotel opportunities for its brands in the Canary Islands, including Lanzarote.
This is reported by the tourist news agency Hosteltur, in an interview with its CEO, Christoph Debus, who recently toured the archipelago to “seek new growth projects”.
Debus shared that the destinations that his clients like the most are Fuerteventura, Gran Canaria and Tenerife, although “Lanzarote is also a good destination”, he explained.
Dertur's hotel portfolio, which includes numerous hotels that belonged to Thomas Cook before the latter's bankruptcy, has a strong presence in the archipelago. “Canary Islands is very special. It is a twelve-month destination,” explained Debus.
The second German tour operator has approximately 120 hotel establishments in the world. It has brands like Ananea, Aldiana, Sentido or Playitas.
According to Debus, the Playitas Sport Hotel Fuerteventura is “the best sports hotel in the world, from my point of view as an enthusiastic athlete.”
