The high-impact storm Regina that is affecting the south of the peninsula and the Canary Islands is leaving rain, wind, rough seas and hail in Lanzarote.
Some readers have sent to this newsroom the images of the hail that has fallen around 15:00 hours this Tuesday in different points of the island, such as Arrecife, Mácher, Tahíche or Mozaga.
Despite its small size, this hail has surprised residents of the areas where it has fallen, not only because of the unusualness of its appearance, but also because of the loud noise it makes when hitting windows and cars.
Although it has fallen in a short space of time, in the images one can see how it has covered in white the traditional rofe of Lanzarote.
As you will recall, Lanzarote and La Graciosa are under yellow warning for wind until 08:59 AM this Wednesday due to gusts that can reach and/or exceed 70 kilometers per hour. Likewise, the yellow warning for swell that will become orange is also active starting at 00:00 AM this Wednesday with waves that can reach seven meters in height, especially in the north and west area.
The State Meteorological Agency forecasts for this Wednesday cloudy skies at dawn, with moderate precipitation in the form of showers, without ruling out some locally heavy rain and accompanied by a storm. Subsequently, it will tend to cloudy intervals, more compact in the afternoon with some weak precipitation. In addition, a slight entry of haze is expected in the afternoon.
Regarding temperatures, they will experience few changes, with minimums of 12 degrees and maximums of 19. The wind will blow strong from the northwest with very strong gusts during the early morning and first hours of the morning, which could reach 90 kilometers per hour in inland areas and slopes oriented to the northwest and southeast. From the morning it will turn to north and decrease to moderate.
