Representatives of the workers and female workers of the Zonzamas landfill, through the General Union of Workers (UGT) union, have publicly denounced their "deep discomfort" due to different situations that "deteriorate the working conditions and the work environment at the center".
So, the employees of this waste treatment facility, the main one on the island, have exposed the "discriminatory treatment" that would be taken from the company's management when applying sanctions. Specifically, they have pointed out that a worker was dismissed in an "unjust and disproportionate" manner.
At the same time that they have warned that they are suffering from "a growing workload, which is affecting the normal development of tasks and generating a situation of constant pressure on the staff".
The representatives of the Workers have criticized "the poor management" of human resources, pointing out that "substantial changes are being promoted in working conditions without the corresponding negotiation" with the legal representation of the workers (RLPT). The union has indicated that this is considered "a violation of the established labor dialogue procedures".
In this regard, the legal representatives of the employees have asked the company to "redirect the situation and open a real dialogue process," that allows addressing these issues and guaranteeing "fair working conditions."
Should these issues not be resolved, the workers' representatives have announced that they will initiate mobilizations and, even, call a strike. Likewise, he has reiterated his willingness to resolve this situation through dialogue, but that "they will not remain passive" in the face of a situation they consider, "unjust and unsustainable".
