In the early hours of this Tuesday, a fire occurred in four vehicles parked in an open area behind the Arrecife Fire Station.
The fire took place around 2:00 a.m. on Tenderete street in the capital of Lanzarote, at which time the Security and Emergency Consortium was alerted.
Upon arrival, the firefighters found that the fire was affecting the interior of a vehicle and was beginning to spread to the adjacent vehicle. Thanks to the rapid intervention, they managed to extinguish the fire, although the interior of the first vehicle was completely burned.
A third vehicle also suffered damage to its right side due to the action of the fire. In addition, a fourth vehicle, belonging to the same company, was found with the right window broken, although it was not affected by the flames.
Apparently, the police investigation suspects that it may be arson. Thus, the four vehicles had broken windows, although only two finally burned because the firefighters were able to put it out quickly. According to the Emergency Consortium, they have had to act "several times and for the same reason" in the area in recent years.
