The storm that has affected the island of Lanzarote since the early hours of Friday has left more rain than strong winds last night. The Emergency Consortium has registered 109 incidents since the storm began in the early hours of Friday.

According to the manager of the Emergency and Security Consortium, Enrique Espinosa, "the Consortium's staff have worked very well throughout the night", "the wind has not been so strong but the rains have been of great intensity", Espinosa explained to La Voz that the biggest problems have occurred on some roads in the north of the island that have suffered landslides of stones and large puddles. Among the most complicated roads are Tabayesco, El Mojón with Los Valles and Arrieta to Órzola.

On the other hand, Espinosa pointed out that they have coordinated with Canal Gestión to reduce the black spots of Arrecife, especially in Calle Gómez Ulla, where trucks have remained pumping water. More reinforcements have also been needed in Costa Teguise in the area of Pueblo Marinero and some streets of the town that have suffered major floods.

The Lanzarote Security and Emergency Consortium reports that "at this time orange alerts are maintained for strong winds and adverse coastal phenomena, and yellow for rain".

According to the forecasts that are being considered, these conditions will continue until noon, although the rains are expected to be somewhat more moderate compared to those that have fallen during the past night. For this reason, the island's emergency services continue to urge the population to take the appropriate precautions and make use of the usual recommendations.

Lanzarote Airport

The airport's operability has been affected again by the storm. Inter-island flights have been canceled again, specifically two flights from Gran Canaria and one from Tenerife. The airline expects to resume activity with the other islands throughout the day and as the weather improves.

However, national and international flights are operating normally. According to the AENA press office, all operations have been rescheduled to include flights that were diverted to other islands on Friday.

Ports

Fred Olsen maintains the cancellation of its routes from Lanzarote to Fuerteventura, although the Company hopes that they can operate again in the next few hours. For its part, Armas has confirmed to the editors of La Voz that they continue to operate normally.
