The Civil Guard of Costa Teguise arrested last Monday a person with initials J.P.D. and 60 years of age, as the alleged perpetrator of a crime against public health. This person, supposedly carried out "acts of cultivation and subsequent elaboration for consumption of the narcotic substance", explains the Benemérita. His arrest occurred after discovering in El Cuchillo a marijuana plantation with 263 plants and 380 grams of the drug ready for consumption.
The investigation began when agents from the Costa Teguise station found a photograph on a social network in the middle of this month. In it, explains the Civil Guard, "a vehicle appeared with several marijuana plants piled on its roof."
Thus, "after the statement of one of the people related to the photograph, the Civil Guard carried out the appropriate investigations to locate the place where an alleged marijuana plantation was being carried out," they add. The civil guards found that plantation in an "isolated" area known as El Chuchillo, in the town of Tinajo.
"The plantation was in a depression in the ground, which made its detection impossible," they explain. In addition, the greenhouse where it was located was surrounded by various vegetation "as a curtain, to hide what was actually grown inside."
The operation culminated with the arrest of this person whose initials are J.P.D., who is 60 years old and of Spanish nationality, as well as the intervention of 263 marijuana plants and 380 grams of this drug already treated for consumption. Both the detainee and the seized drug have been placed at the disposal of the corresponding Court, on guard duty, in the town of Arrecife.
