The defendants arrived and returned from Puerto del Carmen in the same taxi, whose driver raised the alarm. They were released until it was corroborated where the robbery had been perpetrated.

Arrested while selling a television and a microwave stolen from apartments in Arrecife

The Local Police of Tías arrest the owner of a badly parked vehicle for alleged disobedience and serious resistance to the agents

October 19 2005 (19:43 WEST)

The Local Police of Arrecife have arrested and placed at the disposal of the courts two individuals accused of robbery with force.

The events occurred after both detainees moved by taxi from Arrecife to the Don Fermín apartments in Puerto del Carmen where, to the surprise of the taxi driver, they took a television and a microwave out of a window.

Back in the capital, the taxi driver alerted the Local Police to the events. The capital agents located the two defendants in Calle Andalucía selling the aforementioned appliances to travelers, so they were transferred to the National Police Corps Station.

In the police station they stated that the effects were their property, so they were released after verifying that no robbery had occurred in the aforementioned apartments in Puerto del Carmen. However, the Local Brigade of the Judicial Police was later able to determine that where a robbery had occurred was in the La Laguneta apartments, and not in those of Don Fermín.

After showing the objects to the director of said accommodation and after he recognized them as his, the agents arrested Patricio Félix B.D., a native of Tías, 31 years old and who has 9 previous arrests for similar events, and Cristo Dolores H.V., a native of La Palma, resident in Arrecife and of the same age as the previous one, who has another 14 previous arrests for crimes against property and drug trafficking.

Disobedience

On the other hand, officers of the Local Police of Tías arrested D.J.M.C, 47 years of age, yesterday morning for an alleged crime of disobedience and serious resistance to the agents of the authority.

The agents were preparing to report a badly parked vehicle at a taxi rank in Puerto del Carmen, as it prevented public service vehicles from parking in the place. When the agents were extending the corresponding bulletins and waiting for the municipal crane to arrive to remove the vehicle, the driver appeared, who was very upset.

After trying to take the vehicle from the place without identifying himself and insulting the agents, the detainee even tried to attack a police corporal. For this reason, the agents had to reduce him by force, but not before he put up great resistance.

The detainee was transferred to police facilities, where the appropriate procedures were instructed to later be placed at judicial disposal.
